Keep ownership clear
Use accounts the business can administer and retain. Document who owns the provider subscription and who can authorise access changes, billing and recovery.
Limit access to the task
Give people the access needed for their work and review it when responsibilities change. Separate daily activity from higher-privilege administration where the platform supports it.
Protect sign-in
Use unique passwords and the provider's supported account protection features. Check the hostname before signing in. Keep credentials out of project notes, email threads and support messages.
Plan for a departure
Include access removal in handover procedures. Review shared credentials and service accounts separately so a personnel change does not leave an essential task without an owner.
Keep local information local
The planning tools on this site save selected inputs in your browser. Clear them on shared devices and avoid entering confidential topology details or secrets into local notes.
